Best Pizza in Atlanta (& Beyond): A Local’s Guide to the City’s Top Pies

Let’s get one thing straight: Atlanta loves its pizza.

We might not be NYC or Chicago, but ATL’s got its own pizza personality — crispy crusts, wood-fired edges, foldable slices, & that perfect ratio of cheese to sauce that keeps you coming back for “just one more piece.”

From classic neighborhood joints to creative pop-ups slinging cracker crust & Neapolitan pies, these are the pizza spots that deserve a permanent place in your rotation. Some are staples. Some are new obsessions. All of them? Slice perfection.

So grab a napkin (we don’t judge). Let’s dig in.

P.S. Square, round, or deep dish — fight about it in the comments 🍕

🍕 My Go-To Rotation

Phew Pies (The Atlanta Municipal Market aka the Curb Market / Sweet Auburn → Pop-up)
One word: innovation. Daddy of the Lemon Pepper Wet Pizza (& don’t YOU forget it). Chef-driven pies with ATL soul — & always a fun collab or twist. If you haven’t tried their pizza or the Oxtail, you’re missing out.

Bertolozi Pizzeria (Rosewell → Buckhead soon)
Chicago cracker-thin pizza, made with precision. Crisp, flavorful + chef’s kiss worthy. P.S. They’re moving to Buckhead soon, so stay tuned.

La Calavera Pizza (Kirkwood)
A gem from the same folks who gave us La Calavera Bakery at the EAV farmers market — expect naturally leavened crusts, creative toppings, & that perfect chew that only comes from real sourdough love. Highly recommend this Mexican bakery rolling out delicious goods.

Savage Pizza (Little 5 Points)
An ATL classic. My old go-to when I lived in Edgewood. Funky, artsy, & still serving some of the best ‘za in town. Pro tip: stay for the comic book art, it’s part of the vibe.

Dolo’s Pizza (South Downtown at Underground Atlanta)
One of the city’s most exciting new-comers. Handmade pies, local energy, & a killer sauce-to-cheese ratio. Pro tip: They host pizza-making classes. Bonus: Open late!

Firewall (Westview)
Neighborhood gem with wood-fired flavor & laid-back energy. A must for Southwest ATL locals.

Glide Pizza (Multiple Locations: O4W, Decatur → Coming to South Downtown Spring 2026)
No-fuss, by-the-slice perfection. Thin, cheesy, & always hits after a night out. Pro tip: grab a whole pie for your next picnic or movie night… It folds well on the go.

Pizza Kusina (Pop-Up)
Filipino-inspired pizzas that slap. Think adobo-style toppings, crispy crusts, & a vibe that feels like family dinner — if your family could really throw down in the kitchen.

Pizza Verdura Sincera (L5P)
Plant-forward pizza that doesn’t miss. Their seasonal toppings, house-made vegan cheeses, & sourdough crust prove you don’t need meat to have bomb flavor. It’s giving cozy dinner date meets farmers market… with a glass of natural wine, of course. Bon appétit fam!

Brasiliana (EAV Inside Southern Feedstore Food Hall)
Authentic Brazilian-style pizzas made fresh in the heart of East Atlanta. Warm, lively, & packed with unique flavor combos that feel like a little escape.

Ghost Pizza (Pop-Up)
Craving something different? This is your spot. Fold it, drip grease, repeat. Bonus points for their Drunk Uncle: a spicy vodka pie.

Lloyd’s Pizza Party (Inman Park)
”Whatever, Man”. Retro vibes, classic pies, & cocktails that pair a little too well. Fried mozzarella is a non-negotiable. Happy cheese pulling!

Follower Picks: Brainwave Pizza (Decatur), Edgewood Pizza (O4W), Fellini’s Pizza (Multiple Locations).

Other Spots: Firepit Pizza Tavern (Grant Park), Antico Pizza (Home Park), Slim & Husky’s (Adair Park), Max Coal’s Oven Pizzeria (Downtown).

🥧 Bonus: When You’re Craving Pie-Pie

Heaps ATL (Decatur)
Technically not pizza, but their savory pies deserve a seat at this table. Order the Thai curry, chana masala, or butter chicken… You can thank me later.

🔥 Final Slice

ATL’s pizza scene is serving creativity, culture, & true comfort — all in one bite. Whether you’re Downtown or somewhere OTP, there’s a pie that fits your vibe.
