š The Ultimate BBQ Bucket List: Atlanta Edition
From smoky brisket to vinegar-soaked pulled pork, Atlantaās BBQ scene is stacked with hidden gems, OG faves, & a few new players in the game. Whether youāre a brisket snob or just here for the cornbread, this guide is your messy, delicious map to ATLās best ācue. Happy feasting!
My Go-To BBQ Spots:
šJJC Jerk ATL (Jimmie Jerk Chicken)
IYKYK ā Jerk BBQ ATL isnāt just a pop-up, itās a whole experience. Iāve been rocking with this chef for a minute, & every drop continues to deliver bold, smoky, unapologetically fire flavors.
From perfectly grilled jerk chicken to BBQ plates that sell out fast (for good reason), this is one of those rare finds that feels like Atlanta soul on a plate. Each pop-up brings the energy, the flavor, & a crowd that knows exactly whatās up.
I recently stopped by again & yep, still obsessed. If youāre scrolling past and havenāt pulled up yet⦠consider this your sign.
PRO TIP: You need the oxtail empanada. Give them a follow on Instagram @jerkbbqatl for their next pop-up location⦠because once it hits your plate, youāll understand the hype & never be the same.
šGeneās
A cult following, but rightfully so. If you havenāt made it over to Geneās in East Lake yet, youāre seriously missing out. What started as a beloved pop-up has grown into a full-blown neighborhood fave⦠& itās still serving up some of the most craveable comfort food in Atlanta.
Think Viet-Cajun mash up. From boudin egg rolls to sticky ribs, crab claws, & a banana pudding Iād unapologetically fight someone over! This spot doesnāt play. The inside is just as memorable, filled with nostalgic gems like an XL giant pink alligator & throwback street sharks (yes, really). Itās a little chaotic, a lot delicious, & 100% nerd-approved.
FUN FACT: The restaurant is named after a chonky orange & white cat.
šFox Bros Bar-B-Q (An ATL Classic)
If you know Atlanta BBQ, you know Fox Bros. Big portions, bold smoke, & Texas-Southern fusion that never misses. From brisket to ribs to chili cheese fries ā itās messy in the best way. I also LOVE the Foxaroni.
š Heirloom Market BBQ (Korean-Southern fusion is an OG fave)
šCommunity Q BBQ (Classic & solid)
