Where ATL Creators Shop: Vintage, Upcycle, & Home Goods That Inspire
Atlanta’s not short on big box furniture stores, but if you know me, that’s not where I shop.
My home has been built through local vintage shops, small businesses, & DIY projects that make every corner feel personal. Here’s where I’ve sourced everything from reclaimed doors to stained glass to funky art prints that make my Atlanta home as unique as me.
How We Got Here
In 2021, we sold our condo in Edgewood (Eastside Atlanta) & moved to the Westside. What we bought was a gutted, builder-grade 1930s house in basic white & gray. Eww. But it was under budget, checked a few boxes on our list, & had potential. It just needed some love, inside & out.
Why I Thrift + Shop Local
Here’s the thing: I could buy cookie-cutter decor that looks like everyone else’s Pinterest board… but where’s the fun in that? Thrifting, upcycling, and shopping local keeps my historic home full of charm, quirks, and one-of-a-kind finds.
That chippy antique piano? It’s got more personality than any HomeGoods dupe ever will. And every dollar spent at a neighborhood shop or market is a vote for the creatives, curators, and hustlers who make Atlanta feel like Atlanta. Supporting them means I’m not just filling a room — I’m adding a story.
