Must-Do in Serenbe: Slow Days, Farm Feasts & Feel-Good Escapes Just Outside Atlanta

Sometimes you’ve got to step outside the city to really slow down — & Serenbe is that place.

About 45 minutes south of Atlanta in Chattahoochee Hills, this wellness-rooted community feels like a Hallmark movie came to life. If that movie had organic markets, chef-driven restaurants, forest trails, & goats you can actually hang out with.

Whether you're planning a cozy weekend getaway, a dreamy day trip, or just craving a vibe shift from city noise, Serenbe is giving soft life in full bloom.

It’s been over a decade since I last visited, but I came back with fresh eyes to create this guide to exploring Serenbe like a local — one who says yes to wine flights, walks barefoot in gardens, & romanticizes goat sightings on purpose.

Places I Always Drift Into (On Purpose)

Birdhouse Market
Tiny coffee shop, big charm. Calm, unfussy, & exactly where you want to land first. Bonus points for community moments like silent book clubs & slow-morning hangs.

Hills & Hamlets Bookshop
If you love independent bookstores, clear your schedule. This place makes you want to sit, read, & rethink your life choices — or at least cancel your next plan. Cozy, thoughtful, & dangerously easy to linger in. P.S. It’s next to Birdhouse Market, which feels intentional.

Typo Market
Designy, curated, & very “this would look cute on my shelf.” Stationery, gifts, small objects that feel intentional without being try-hard. I never leave empty-handed.

Sweet Treat Break (Mandatory)

Blue Eyed Daisy Bakeshop
This is your reward for existing. Pastries that feel comforting without being boring… best enjoyed slowly, preferably outside, pretending you live here now.

Where the Day Softens Into Evening

Serenbe Wine Shop
A cozy little wine stop made. Thoughtfully curated bottles, easy pours. Ideal for pre-dinner sips, post-walk wind-downs, or pretending you really understand tasting notes (no judgment).

The Hill at Serenbe
A go-to gathering spot for food, drinks, & letting the day stretch a little longer than planned. Come hungry, stay chatty, & don’t rush the second drink. I haven’t been back since 2013 — which means a return visit is long overdue.

Art That Doesn’t Feel Stuffy (Bless)

Art Farm at Serenbe
This is where Serenbe’s creative energy really shows up. Performances, exhibitions, & events that feel accessible, immersive, & actually fun — even if you’re not “an art person.”

Other Soft-Life Activities Worth Saying Yes To

🌿 Nature trails & wandering without a destination
🐐 Goat meet-&-greets (yes, really)
🐎 Horseback riding through the countryside

Final Thoughts (Before You Drive Back to Reality)

Serenbe isn’t about checking boxes.
It’s about slowing down on purpose.

Come for the pastries + adventures in the pages at the bookstore. Stay for the quiet moments, the art surprises, & the feeling that you don’t need to be productive to be fulfilled.

If Atlanta has you tired, overstimulated, or craving a reset — this is your sign. for some OTP charm.
