Where ATL Creators Shop: Vintage, Upcycle, & Home Goods That Inspire
Atlanta’s not short on big box furniture stores.
But if you know me, that’s not where I shop... or where my house came from.
Most of the pieces in my home were thrifted, salvaged, or discovered at local shops run by the kind of people who know the difference between old & interesting.
Reclaimed doors.
Vintage glass.
Art prints from Atlanta creatives.
The result? A house that feels layered, lived-in, & a little weird in the best way.
Here are a few places around Atlanta where I’ve found the pieces that make my home feel like my home.

Updated 04/09/2026How We Got Here
In 2021, we sold our condo in Edgewood on the Eastside (Atlanta) & moved to the Westside.
We bought a 1930’s house that had been stripped down to builder-grade.
Think:
White walls.
Gray tile floors.
Zero personality.
Ew. I know.
But it checked a few boxes, came in under budget, & had good bones. The kind of house that just needed someone willing to dig around antique shops, haul home questionable furniture, & start experimenting.
So that’s what we did.
Why I Thrift + Shop Local
Here’s the thing… Sure, I could buy a perfectly curated room that looks like every Pinterest board ever made.
But where’s the story in that? Where’s the fun?
Thrifting & shopping local keeps a home interesting. You end up with pieces that have history, texture, & the occasional mysterious stain you pretend is “patina.”
That chipped antique table in my living room?
Way more personality than any HomeGoods dupe could ever have.
Oh, & every dollar spent at a neighborhood shop or market supports the creatives, curators, & vintage hunters who make Atlanta feel like Atlanta.
I’m not just decorating a room. I’m collecting stories.
Vintage Gems (ATL Core)
These are the spots I wander when I’m looking for the unexpected — furniture, decor, art, & the occasional “I don’t need this, but it’s definitely coming home with me” find.
🪑 Mother Lode(Athens & Decatur)
Woman-owned
One of my go-to stops when I want something with actual character… or browse for inso.
I’ve found everything from vintage frames to small decor pieces that don’t feel mass-produced. It’s the kind of place where you go in “just to look” & leave with something you didn’t know your space needed.
🪜 Decatur Estate(Decatur)
Woman-owned
It’s big, a little chaotic (in my favorite way), & full of everything from vintage furniture to small home finds that feel like they’ve lived a life before yours.
The good stuff isn’t always obvious at first glance. It’s a treasure hunt. I’ve definitely left with an XL library ladder.
Vendors I Love
Holy Dog Vintage(Vendor)
Green Wall Vintage(Vendor)
🪞 Kudzu Antiques (Scottdale)
This is where you go when you’re ready to dig.
I’ve spotted vintage mirrors, old metal furniture, & those one-off pieces that make a room feel layered instead of staged. It takes patience… but that’s part of the fun.
🗝️ The Modernist (West Midtown)
Beyond the Perimeter (OTP Treasures)
Don’t sleep on the suburbs when it comes to vintage hunting. Some of the best character pieces live just outside the city.
Davis Street Antiques (Monroe, GA)
Rustic Roots Reclaimed (Monroe, GA)
Vintage Revival Antiques (Monroe, GA)
Notes: Monroe is officially known as the Antiques Capital of Georgia.
Rockin’ B Antiques (Newnan, GA)
Famous Nameless Antique (Newnan, GA)
Pro tip: If you’re looking for larger furniture pieces, these spots are often gold mines.
DIY Supply + Salvage Spot
When you’re renovating or building something custom, salvage yards are where the magic happens.
Old doors, windows, & architectural pieces with real history. One of my go-to, must-have stops:
Atlanta Lifecycle Building (Oakland City, Westside)
Functional Finds + Home Goods
Sometimes you don’t need a massive vintage cabinet. You just need a really good mug or a handmade cutting board. These are a few Atlanta spots where I find everyday items that still feel special.
The Beehive (Edgewood Retail District)
🖤 Black-ownedWanderstate Mercantile (Chamblee)
Woman-ownedSocial Space (Old Fourth Ward)
Homegrown Decatur (Avondale Estates)
Brick+Mortar(in Westside Provisions)
Junkman’s Daughter (Little 5 Points)
Press Shop(Summerhill)
Woman-owned
🧺 Thrifted Finds + Little Things That Hit
Not everything needs to be a statement piece.
Sometimes it’s a thrifted tee, a quirky dish, or something small that somehow pulls the whole room together.
These are the spots I keep going back to for those kinds of finds.
🪩 Vintageland(Little 5 Points)
🖤 Black-owned
Curated & colorful. This one leans playful; bold pieces, funky decor, & the kind of finds that instantly add personality to a space.
If your vibe is less “neutral Pinterest” & more “this feels like me,” you’ll probably leave with something… including a dopamine boost.
Vendors I Love
Lights, Camera, Vintage! (Vendor) Nostalgic vintage that feels like a full mood. Think statement pieces, textures, + rare finds that look like they came straight out of an era.
Duality Clique (Vendor)
Playful, a little edgy. This is where you find jewelry pieces that don’t feel predictable — in the best way.Sloe Eyed Soldier (Vendor)
Beautiful stained glass pieces. Intentional, a nod to Atlanta, & quirky.
Pro tip: Go with an open mind. The best pieces are usually the ones you didn’t plan for.
Space Queen (Candler Park)
Social Space (Old Fourth Ward)
Junkman’s Daughter (Little 5 Points)
Psycho Sisters (Little 5 Points)
Rag-O-Rama (Little 5 Points)
Clothing Warehouse(Little 5 Points)
A go-to for vintage clothing that actually feels wearable. Racks full of denim, tees, and pieces that already have a story — perfect for when you want something thrifted but still styled.
