Queer-Owned Gems in Atlanta You Need to Know (Pride & Always)

Pride Month may be June, but supporting Queer-owned businesses shouldn't be limited to one month on the calendar.

Atlanta has long been recognized as one of the most LGBTQ+-friendly cities in the South, & its Queer community has helped shape the city's culture for generations.

From Civil Rights marches to underground drag shows (& everything in between), this city has always carved out space for LGBTQ+ folks to show up loud, proud… & exactly as they are.

We’re not just known for having one of the biggest Pride celebrations in the South (Hello, October Pride!), we’re known for the people who built the culture year-round… & today?

That legacy lives on in our bookstores, brunches, coffee shops, creative spaces, late-night dance floors, & local businesses that keep the community moving.

Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ community isn’t just thriving — it’s serving coffee, culture, creativity & unforgettable moments all across the city.

Whether you’re visiting Atlanta for Pride Month, searching for Queer-owned businesses in Atlanta, or simply looking to support local year-round, these LGBTQ+ owned gems deserve your coins.

Because supporting Queer businesses means investing in joy, visibility, community care, & the people helping make Atlanta the vibrant city we love.

Coffee First, Always

☕️ Taproom Coffee (Kirkwood)

The pittie branding alone could heal me. Beyond the great coffee, Taproom has become a welcoming community space where neighbors, dog lovers, & regulars gather over lattes, pastries, + conversation.

Pro tip: Don't leave without grabbing a treat from Baftooh Bakery.

☕️ Schāf Shop (Midtown)

Part coffee shop, part community space. Expect great coffee, thoughtful programming, & the kind of welcoming energy that makes you want to stay for a second cup.

☕️ Finca to Filter (Boulevard Heights & Old Fourth Ward)

A coffee shop staying Queer & caffeinated. Finca to Filter highlights coffee from farm to cup while creating a warm, inclusive space where community feels just as important as the caffeine. Don’t sleep on the Pride menu + merch.

Queer Nightlife & Venues

Atlanta's Queer community doesn't just show up during Pride. It shows up year-round in bars, dance floors, drag shows, karaoke nights, community events, & the spaces that have helped generations of LGBTQ+ Atlantans find each other.

Old Fourth Ward

Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium (Edgewood Ave in Old Fourth Ward)

This is one of my go-tos. Equal parts irreverent, chaotic, & iconic. Church has long been a gathering place for Atlanta's creatives, weirdos (it’s me), & LGBTQ+ community. Grab a drink, play ping pong, & admire the delightfully unhinged artwork.

🌙 Lore(Edgewood Ave in Old Fourth Ward) )

One of Atlanta's newer Queer nightlife spaces, bringing together dancing, DJs, drag, & community under one roof. Inclusive, energetic, & quickly becoming a staple.

🎭 Jonathan Vendrick

Performer, producer, community builder, & one of the creative minds helping keep Atlanta delightfully weird... in the best way!

If you've ever attended one of the legendary Pee-wee's Playhouse shows, you already know. Equal parts nostalgia, camp, drag, chaos, & pure joy, these productions have become ONE of Atlanta's true must-do experiences. IMO at least.

Beyond the stage, Jonathan is also part of the team at Lore, continuing to create spaces where Atlanta's LGBTQ+ community can gather, celebrate, & have a little fun.

10/10. Highly recommend.

🕹 Joystick Game Bar(Edgewood Ave in Old Fourth Ward)

Craft cocktails, arcade games, & nostalgia. Whether you're chasing high scores or meeting up with friends, Joystick has remained a beloved gathering spot for Atlanta.

🔥 Hot tip: You can make this into a bar crawl.

An Atlanta institution. From drag shows to karaoke nights, Mary's has been creating space for self-expression, community, & unforgettable evenings for decades.

Affectionately known as MSR, this is one of the longest-running Lesbian bars in the country. A cornerstone of Atlanta's LGBTQ+ community with drag performances, dance nights, comedy, & community events. Highly recommend.

🦅 Atlanta Eagle (Midtown)

Leather & community. The Eagle remains an important part of the city's Queer nightlife landscape. While I miss the historic building in my twenties… The Atlanta Eagle is still giving.

🍸 Blake’s (Midtown)

A Midtown classic. Whether you're visiting for a drag show, cocktails, or a night out with friends, Blake's has been a fixture of Atlanta's LGBTQ+ scene for generations… & yes the drinks are still strong.

X Midtown

Formerly TEN Atlanta (for those that remember pre-gaming before Blake’s). This Midtown nightlife destination continues Atlanta's long tradition of creating welcoming spaces.

🐾 Bulldogs

A longtime neighborhood favorite known for casual drinks & friendly regulars.
🖤 Black Owned

Atlanta's LGBTQ+ community isn't defined by a single neighborhood, business, or month.

It's built every day by artists, chefs, booksellers, performers, organizers, coffee roasters, drag artists, makers, & small business owners creating spaces where people can show up as themselves.

So whether you're celebrating Pride this June, October, or somewhere in between, I hope this guide inspires you to keep showing up all year long.

Happy Pride, Atlanta. I love you. 🌈
