Patios I Love Around Atlanta

My favorite patios for slow days, drinks & good energy.

Atlanta is a patio city.

The second the weather even hints at being nice, everyone’s outside.

Dogs under tables. Drinks sweating in the sun, ice metling faster than expected.
Someone always saying, “we should sit outside.”

… & honestly? They’re right.

Because some of the best moments in this city don’t happen inside. They happen on patios.

Some patios you try once.
Some you accidentally build a routine around.

☀️ The Vibe of an ATL Patio

Not all patios are created equal.

Some are made for lingering. Some are made for people-watching. Some are where you accidentally spend three hours.

The best ones?

• You don’t feel rushed
• The seating actually makes sense
• There’s shade (be serious, Atlanta)
• The energy feels easy

… & if there’s a breeze? Elite.

📍 Westside + SouthWest ATL (Westside Bestside)

Where patios feel a little more spacious, a little more laid-back, and built for longer hangs.

☕ Coffee

Portrait Coffee (Historic West End)
Community-rooted, intentional, & one of the best slow-morning patios in the city.
🖤 Black-owned

JPresso (Hapeville)
Bright, modern, & never misses. Seasonal drinks are always fun (& photogenic, I adore the vintage).
💚 AAPI owned

404 Grounds (Westview)
Tucked inside a creative space, The Kenekt, it’s ideal for laptop days or catching up with your neighbors. Good vibes, local art, & even better energy. P.S. I really love the murals outside.
🖤 Black-owned

🍺 Breweries

Atlantucky Brewing(Castleberry Hill)
Community-driven & always feels like more than just a brewery.
🖤 Black-owned

Monday Night Garage (West End)
Big space, easy energy, & perfect for group hangs.

🍽 Casual + Social

La Bodega (Sylvan Hills)
Blink & you might miss it — but don’t. It’s one of those low-key spots where you grab a pupusa or collab meals, sit outside, & suddenly you’re not in a rush anymore.

Boggs Social(West End)
Easy patio energy with plenty of space to spread out. One of those spots that works for a casual meet-up or a long, unplanned hang.

The Westwood‍ ‍(Westview)

New kid on the block & already giving “future neighborhood classic.” Set inside a restored 1920s barber shop, with art-deco details & salvaged fixtures, it’s got history & personality baked in. Little side / back patio. Pro tip: Highly recommend the official house hot sauce, Horror Struck!

📍 Eastside (Candler Park, Inman Park, Decatur, EAV)

Where patios feel neighborhood-y, a little eclectic, & very “run into someone you know.”

☕ Coffee

Ash Coffee (Virginia Highland)
Soft lighting, strong pastries, and a patio that turns one coffee into two. Same team behind Junkman’s Daughter in L5p.

Chrome Yellow Trading Co. (Old Fourth Ward)
See WFH (But make it aesthetic) below.

Waller’s Coffee Shop (Decatur-ish)
Neighborhood-coded + low pressure. The kind of outside area where nobody’s rushing you out & your “quick coffee” turns into a second one.

🍽 Daytime / Brunch Energy

Wahoo! Grill (Oakhurst)
Hidden gem patio that feels like a true escape.

The Imperial (Oakhurst)
Neighborhood bar energy done right. The patio is easy, unfussy, & made for casual hangs that turn into “one more drink.”

Pastries a Go Go (Decatur)
If your ideal patio moment involves coffee & something sweet, this is it. Bright, playful, & a little dramatic in the best way, it’s the kind of spot where you grab a coffee & pastry… & then immediately wish you ordered two. Then you order breakfast.

Chai Pani (Decatur)
Bold, lively, & always a little buzzing. The patio keeps that same energy, colorful, social, & perfect for sharing plates that don’t stay on the table long.

Brick Store Pub (Decatur)
That beer garden patio? Always a yes.

🍻 Casual Hangs

Smiley’s Burger Club (Decatur)
Small but mighty patio… Who doesn’t love a burger & smiley fries?

Victory Sandwich Bar (Inman Park / Decatur)
String lights, easy drinks, & always a vibe.

The Earl (East Atlanta Village)
Classic, slightly chaotic, & exactly what you want it to be. Def don’t skip on their brunch or a show.

Little Cottage Brewing (Avondale Estates)
Smaller, cozy, & feels like a neighborhood secret.

🍝 Dinner That Turns Into Hours

Carroll Street Café (Cabbagetown)
One of those patios that feels like a European escape tucked into Atlanta. Wine, small plates, & a street that makes you want to slow down. P.S. They also have espresso.

Gigi’s Italian Kitchen (Candler Park)
Cozy, romantic, and made for slow nights.

Poor Hendrix (East Lake)
Neighborhood energy with a patio that always feels alive.

Little Bear (Sumerhill)
Small seating, big personality. Just a couple of bistro tables out front, but the energy carries. It’s creative, a little chaotic in the best way.

📍 BeltLine Energy

If you want movement, people-watching, & a little chaos.

The Albert (Inman Park)
Lowkey neighborhood staple. Easy, unpretentious, & always reliable.

BeetleCat (Inman Park)
Coastal energy with a patio that’s perfect for sunset drinks. The lobster roll & cocktails are a must.

A mano (Old Fourth Ward)
Pasta, wine, & a patio that feels intimate without trying too hard.

Park Tavern (Piedmont Park)
Classic ATL patio with skyline views.

Follower picks: Delbar, Burle’s Bar, Barcelona Wine Bar, Superica, Bar Taco, Bread & Butterfly, Boxcar, Sotto Sotto Restaurant.

📍 Midtown Energy, Northside & Buckhead

These are the patios that feel a little more polished, but still worth stepping outside for. P.S. I really miss Joe’s on Juniper.

Larakin (Midtown)
Underrated, cozy, & perfect for a slower evening. Unwind, you deserve it.

The Chastain (Buckhead)
More elevated, but still relaxed enough to enjoy the outdoors.

🍽 Food Hall Patios

For when you want options + outdoor space.

Chattahoochee Food Works (The Works)
Plenty of seating, lots of options, & easy to post up for a while.

💡 What Makes a Patio Actually Good?

It’s not just outdoor seating.

It’s:

• airflow (we live in the South, let’s be serious)
• space to linger
• seating that isn’t chaotic
• & energy that makes you want to stay

If you look up + realize you’ve been there for two hours? That’s the one.

✨ The Takeaway

Patios in Atlanta aren’t just about eating outside.

They’re where plans stretch longer than expected. Where you run into people you know. Where a quick drink turns into a full afternoon.

So next time the weather hits?

Sit outside.

Stay a little longer than you meant to, & let the day unfold from there.
