Kirkwood Spring Fling Weekend: Where to Eat, Sip & Wander
Kirkwood feels like one of Atlanta’s best-kept neighborhood secrets… at least until Spring Fling rolls around.
Suddenly the streets fill with local vendors, patio hangs, live music, families, dogs, & people slowly wandering from one small business to the next.
Honestly? That’s the magic of Kirkwood.
It’s walkable. Relaxed. A little nostalgic.
The kind of neighborhood where a “quick stop” somehow turns into staying all afternoon.
So if you’re heading to Kirkwood Spring Fling this year, here’s how I’d spend the day.
Coffee + Slow Starts
The pittie branding alone could heal me… but I’ll also gladly take a sweet treat from Baftooh Bakery while I’m there. Cozy, community-driven, & the kind of coffee shop that feels built for lingering after Spring Fling wandering.
It’s an easy reset spot, so grab a latte from the Spring menu like the burnt honey orange latte, or the strawberry spiced tahini latte, & post up outside for a bit, & pretend you’re only stopping for “one quick coffee.”
Don’t let the “butcher” part fool you — this spot does absolute magic with pastries & bread. Their sausage roll has a special place in my heart, & their bakes like the olive baguette have that nostalgic, European feel I crave. The bread has the crunch. IYKYK.
Bright, fun, & full of flavor. From breakfast burritos to pop-ups, this is the kind of casual neighborhood spot that works whether you’re grabbing a quick bite.
Eclectic that somehow makes brunch feel softer. It’s the kind of place made for slower mornings, coffee refills, & lingering over one more bite of French toast before wandering the neighborhood again.

🍔 Evergreen Butcher + Baker (Kirkwood)
Atlanta’s Sunday secret you didn’t know you needed. Shhh…
This burger pop-up is a foodie must-do! With fresh, top-tier ingredients, perfectly seared patties, & house-baked buns. Evergreen is serving up one of ATL’s most unforgettable burger experiences… but ONLY on Sundays.
PRO TIP: Come early & act right. Let’s keep this gem thriving by showing love + respect to everyone in line.
🍕 La Calavera Pizza
A gem from the same folks who gave us La Calavera Bakery at the EAV farmers market — expect naturally leavened crusts, creative toppings, & that perfect chew that only comes from real sourdough love. Highly recommend this Mexican bakery rolling out delicious goods.
El Tesoro (Kirkwood & West End)
A cool patio hang on the Eastside, with tacos & strong margaritas. The kind of laid-back energy that makes it dangerously easy to stay awhile.
Wyatt’s BBQ (shack)
No-frills, old-school BBQ energy in the best way off of Memorial Drive. The kind of spot that feels rooted in the neighborhood, where the plates are comforting, generous, & built to feed people properly.
& whatever you do… don’t skip the lima beans. Trust me on that one.

✨ The Takeaway
Kirkwood Spring Fling isn’t really about rushing from one thing to the next.
It’s about slowing down a little.
Walking the neighborhood.
Finding a patio.
Buying something from a local maker.
Running into people you know… or wishing you did.
Which honestly feels like the best version of Atlanta.
